This is my second Constellation book illustration, representing Vulpecula, or The Little Fox. I'm hoping to have at least seven completed constellations before the year is out, as I'm hoping to hand bind a small book of them to include with my application portfolio for school. I'd be interested to know which constellations people would like to see next, so if anyone has any ideas that would be awesome.
On Wednesday Jeff and I decided to go sketch at The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. We went last December as well but they've recently opened the new dinosaur hall so we wanted to go see that. It was amazing. We got there slightly earlier than they opened and ended up been the first people inside so we got the see it all while it was still relativly quiet.
This is the first in a series of illustrations I’m creating based on constellations. This constellation is Ursa Minor, or The Little Bear. I'm pretty excited about this one because much like the bird illustrations I created a while ago, I’m planning to bind these ones into a books that I’ll hopefully be selling in my Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/fawnlorn at some point in the future.
This is my first christmas card featuring a new addition to my Bird Book series. The Robin is said to be association with Christmas because postmen in Victorian Britain wore red uniforms and were nicknamed "Robin". The Robin featured on a Christmas card is an emblem of the postman delivering the card.
I'll hopefully be selling a few of these in my Etsy shop within the next couple of days if anyones interested - http://www.etsy.com/shop/fawnlorn. The gold is added by hand and they'll be produced in a limited run.
Hey Guys, so this is the first time I've posted here and I though It would be a good idea to start off by showing you a bunch of my previous art work and telling you a little about myself. My names Matt Hayton, I live in England and I'm currently applying for a few different universities to study illustration or printmaking. I'm planning to start posting all of my new art here so over time there will be a lot more to look at.
